MANGERTON HOUSE
MULTI BUILDING WI-FI SETUP
INTIAL SURVEY > LARGE HOME WIFI SERVICE & STARLINK INSTALL
We were contacted by the owners of Mangerton House, as their existing broadband & Wi-Fi solution was not providing them with reliable speeds or Wi-Fi coverage across their property which comprised of multiple buildings and residences.
As they were located in a very rural part of Dorset their existing internet connection, was an ancient BT copper phone line connection which was only able to provide very slow and inconsistent speeds.
THE PROBLEM
-
Slow incoming broadband speeds with no option for faster physical connection from another provider
-
Their network was not able to handle more than 30 devices at a time
-
The Wi-Fi coverage in the main house was very inconstant and they had multiple areas where they had no connection at all
-
Their existing system was in disrepair and was not managed or supported
-
They wanted to extend their Wi-Fi to more buildings
-
They wanted to have a separate network for the residential family that looked after the properties
OUR SOLUTION
ADD A STARLINK BROADBAND CONNECTION
As there was no faster physical connection service available to them, it was determined a Starlink installation was best placed to provide their incoming broadband.
We provided, installed & configured a new Starlink system to replace their BT connection which:
- Provided 200Mbps Download & 50Mbps Upload speeds
- Was professionally installed & mounted to the exterior of the main building
- Was Configured to run in bypass mode for another system to manage their network & Wi-Fi
INSTALL A NEW REMOTE MANAGED SYSTEM WITH WI-FI 6 & MORE ACCESS POINTS
Their existing system (Aruba) was a hardwired system connected to multiple Wi-Fi 4 access points which were lose on the floor and connected to ethernet wall ports in various location in the property. This system was both outdated and not fit for purpose for their requirements.
We provided, installed & configured a new OMADA networking solution which:
- Upgraded their system to Wi-Fi 6 across the property
- Added greater range to each access point
- Allowed for more access points to be installed in the main building & additional buildings
- Allowed access for over 300 individual devices
THE RESULT
-
Incoming broadband speeds increased from 18Mbps to 200Mbps
-
Full Wi-Fi coverage of 4 buildings managed by a single system
-
New Wi-Fi access points installed in main property & outbuildings
-
Secure & separate networks for both Clients and for the residential team
-
Remotely managed & supported system with no upkeep for the owners / residential team
-
Scope to expand the system in the future for full outdoor coverage of their 17 Acre boundaries
